Q: I AM HAVING A PROBLEM PICKING A COLOUR TO PAINT MY BEDROOM, MY ONSUITE IS TILE IN GRAY/BLUE COLOUR. AND MY BEDCOVERED ARE IN BLUE AND GOLD. ALSO MY HALLWAY LEADING TO MY BEDROOM IS PAINTED IN  A (LIGHT KHAKI)  I WOULD LIKE TO WORK IT ALL IN TOGEATHER IF THAT IS POSSIBLE. OUR IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER IDEA.

A: Hmmm....

Ok, lets see.... I have a few more questions for you....

1. What is the approximate size of your bedroom?
2. Is it a bright room or shadier room?
3. Which direction do your windows face? N, S, E or W
4. Do you like the tile color?
5. Do you like your bedding?
6. Is the bedding the same blue as your tile or is it a brighter blue...
7. Is your bedding online anywhere where I can see it? or could you email a photo of it?
8. Do you see your bedroom from the hallway?

Answers to above questions:

1.  bedroom size is 17feet by 22 feet
2. bright room
3. east
4. I like the tile color
5. i like the bedding
6. yes, it is navy
7. i dont think so
8. yes.

A: You have a very nice, large and bright bedroom. This actually gives you lots of options. Your hallway is a light khaki, which is a neutral. So whatever color you choose for your bedroom, the hallway will look fine.

Let me give you a few ideas for the color of your walls...

Mustard gold: this is a brownish gold... that leans more toward the beige than a sunny yellow. This will complement your bedding and offer a warm glow to your room. Your room is large, so you can easily get away with a darker color. This color will also flow well with the khaki in the hallway.

Light blue: imagine adding white the navy blue of your bedding. Your room will feel cool and comfortable. Blue on the walls will tie together both the bedding and the tile. The blue would be different from the khaki in the hallway... so if this bothers you, add some blue accents to the hallway walls. A framed print... decorative plates... a small table with a blue porcelain lamp.

Orange-Brown: the complement to Navy Blue on the color wheel is a dark orange. The darker the orange, the browner it looks. This would be a dramatic look, but would be warm and cozy.

My personal preference would be a mustard gold.
